Three screw pump is one of the important types of fluid transfer equipment used for lubrication, non-abrasive oil based liquid, it is also referred to as triple screw pump, three spindle pump or three rotor pump.
This pump is a positive displacement pump that transfers fluid amounts through cavities of several shape. The pumping elements consist of three moving parts: the power rotor (main screw) and two symmetrically opposed idler rotors‚ all operating within close fitting housing bores. The screws are also matched with the three inset holes, several sealed moving chambers are thereby formed in between the pump inlet and outlet end. These closed chambers will take the medium inside to move from the inlet end axially and let flow pressurized progressively, to have a continuous, constant, axial flow pressured liquid.
SMT serial three screw pumps is for industrial use at low and medium pressure (up to 80 bar). It is the reliable and no noise solution for industrial applications where long life and very smooth fluid flow are required. SMT pump is a priming pump assembled into a pump body.
It is designed with flexible flange fixed structure, fluid can axially / radially flow into the pump, in addition the radial direction of inlet or outlet can adjust arbitrarily in 90-degree direction. The pump body and insert are integrated, so reduce the machining difficulty and improve the assembly accuracy.
SMT serial three screw pump has the internal bearing structure, so the pumping fluid should lubricate the bearing in the working process. Several shaft seal plans according to temperature of fluid: single end face mechanical seal plan and the skeleton oil seal plan.
The matching length of the screws is twice or triple the lead length, so the differential pressure is up to 40 or 80 bar.
There are many specifications such as SMT20, SMT25, SMT32, SMT40, SMT45, SMT55, SMT60, SMT70, SMT80, SMT90. The Arabic numeral part represents the diameter of the main screw.
Pumps within the same specification can also be changed by different helix angle to fully match the delivery flow and pressure conditions of customers, such as 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 50, 52, 54 degrees.
