Three screw pump is key part of turbine control system in power plant, it is used for boosting the turbine oil within a set pressure range, it is also referred to as triple screw pump, three spindle pump or three rotor pump.


This pump is a positive displacement pump that transfers fluid amounts through cavities of several shape. The pumping elements consist of three moving parts: the power rotor (main screw) and two symmetrically opposed idler rotors‚ all operating within close fitting housing bores. The screws are also matched with the three inset holes, several sealed moving chambers are thereby formed in between the pump inlet and outlet end. These closed chambers will take the medium inside to move from the inlet end axially and let flow pressurized progressively, to have a continuous, constant, axial flow pressured liquid.


If outlet flange of the pump which is fixed on the oil tank's upper plane is above the board, we code it [X3GCG-C] type. The number of the outlet flange is single or two, we respectively code it [X3GCG-C1] and [X3GCG-C2] type.

If outlet flange of the pump which is fixed on the oil tank’s upper plane is below the board, we code it [X3GCG-G] type.

Pump has the internal bearing structure, so the pumping fluid will lubricate the bearing in the working process. Several shaft seal plans according to temperature of fluid: single end face mechanical seal plan and the skeleton oil seal plan.


In the operation condition of the power plant, it is required to start under pressure when the pressure is lower than the rated pressure, so the manufacturing and assembly accuracy of the screw must be high enough to meet the above requirements.


We have also independently tested the performance of the type test device and applied for patent protection, including the characteristics of start-up under pressure and rated operation conditions.

There are many specifications such as X3GCG25, X3GCG36, X3GCG45, X3GCG55, X3GCG60, X3GCG70, X3GCG80, X3GCG85, X3GCG90, X3GCG100. The Arabic numeral part represents the diameter of the main screw.  


Pumps within the same specification can also be changed by different helix angle to fully match the delivery flow and pressure conditions of customers, such as 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 50, 52, 54 degrees.
